You’ve no doubt heard of using a Blackberry to access email at work.  But did you know there is another company that supports a variety of devices including Windows Mobile and now the iPhone?  The company is called Good Technology and they recently released their enterprise email messaging application...

Boat Accomodations

Be sure you have a spot on a boat!  This is something you need to proactively make sure you (the person reading this) plan for.  For those that are traveling in from out of town, the best thing to do is to get a crew together and rent a pontoon or pull your own boat if you have one.  It is the perfect opportunity to get some friends together and form your own crew/team.

USE THE MAILING LIST! I can’t stress this enough. Use the mailing list and communicate with others that are going.

Renting A Pontoon

Designate the best person to navigate the boat as possible. While driving a boat is fun, it is also serious. The person in charge of the boat is the *Captain*. Captains are required to show up early on Wednesday so they can be taken to the rental place before it closes to get their boat.

There are two places I’ve rented from in the years past.  Both have their plus and minuses.

Aqua Yacht Harbor – (866) 423-7368

Cost: (need this data)

Eastport Marina – (662) 423-6972

Cost: 27 ft pontoon – $245 / day, 24ft pontoon – $175

Notes Of Interest

Aqua Yacht has more inventory of boats and offers ski-toons and non-ski-toons.  Not as nice as Eastport’s boats.

Eastport has larger boats (able to hold more people, usually more cost affective).  Several years ago my family had to rent a pontoon for Memorial, we got the 27ft pontoon from Eastport.  It is a big boat.  Can hold 8 guys easily.

Both are about the same distance on the water from JP Coleman State Park (about 5 miles on the water).

Remember you will need to figure in the cost of fuel when renting the boat.

Boast Must Haves

Marine radio (check with your rental place and be sure it has one), Fishing net and 2 coolers (one for drinks, one for fish) be sure you and your crew have made plans accordingly as to who is going to bring what.
